Greater Poland

Greater Poland is the hisorical region located in the west-centre of Poland. The capital of the region is Poznań. The main river is Warta River, which is one of the longest rivers of Poland. Although the main city is Poznań, there are numerous other cities, such as: Kalisz, Konin, Piła, Ostrów Wielkopolski, Gniezno (the first capital of Poland), and Leszno. There is Wielkopolska National Park that occupies an area of 75.84 square kilometres. Greater Poland also contains a part of Drawa National Park and several landscape parks, for example the Rogalin Landscape Park. The places that are worth seeing are: Poznań Town Hall, Palace of the Raczyński family in the Rogalin Landscape Park, Gniezno cathedral, Sanctuary of saint Joseph in Kalisz, Leszno town hall, Marian sanctuary in Licheń near Konin, Mysia Wieża (castle) in Kruszwica at Lake Gopło.
